What can you expect during a photoshoot?
Prior to the photoshoot
Let's chat about a few things beforehand. First up, we'll talk about your wishes. It's super helpful if you have any example photos or a mood board at hand. That way, I can get a good feel for what you're looking for, and you can let me know what you're hoping for from me as your photographer.
The next step is deciding where the shoot will take place. Since I don't have a studio, I exclusively do location-based photography. Whether it's indoors or outdoors, the options are open. If, for instance, you have a well-lit room at your place or access to a bright space through family or friends, that works perfectly for me. Newborn and small children photoshoots are an exception and will, at least during the colder months, take place indoors. As a parent, you get to decide, and I'll adapt accordingly.Â
During dry weather, we can definitely venture outdoors. It doesn't have to be far either - if you have a beautiful backyard or live close to a park - that works perfectly.
Is it cloudy, or lightly raining? No problem, as long as it's not pouring down.
During the photoshoot
During a shoot, I let everyone take it easy. Don't worry if you feel a bit awkward at first; that's entirely normal and takes a bit of getting used to. Move as you naturally would, be true to yourself, share the love, and feel free to get a little goofy and spontaneous! We'll work together at an easy pace. You might catch me lying flat on my stomach or halfway on my knees– all for capturing the perfect shots.
For photographing the little ones, from babies to around 8 years old, I have a little plush animal that sits on top of my camera. It makes it much more enjoyable for kids since a big black camera can be a bit intimidating and scary for them.
Feel free to ask questions during the shoot or if you come up with a new idea on the spot. I'm open to it and flexible. It wouldn't be fun if you go home later thinking, "I wish I had asked that!"Â
After the photoshoot
We zijn klaar! Ik hoop dat je een leuke ervaring hebt gehad, en ik snap dat je niet kunt wachten om de foto’s te zien: Ik ben net zo benieuwd!
Zodra ik thuis ben, maak ik direct een back-up, want met digitale apparatuur weet je het maar nooit. Tijdens een shoot van ongeveer 1,5 uur schiet ik flink wat foto’s, soms wel 300! Daarna selecteer ik de beste beelden waar je later uit kunt kiezen.
Binnen 7 dagen rond ik de nabewerking af. Je krijgt toegang tot een persoonlijke online galerij (Shootstack), beveiligd met een wachtwoord. Je kiest zelf het aantal foto’s, afhankelijk van je pakket (5, 10, 20 of 30 stuks). Alle foto’s ontvang je in kleur én zwart-wit, tenzij je een andere voorkeur hebt.
Na jouw keuze verwijder ik het watermerk en stuur ik de definitieve selectie naar je op!
